Chasing <i>C</i> , <i>C</i> ‐Palladacycles

The different approaches for the synthesis of C,C-palladacycles are reviewed in this manuscript. These species hold a bidentate ligand that chelates Pd atom through two C-donor moieties. Their relevance is closely related to fact they intermediates many palladium-catalyzed transformations. Furthermore, some them have been used as efficient catalyst cross coupling reactions. review structured according strategies employed achieve C,C-palladacycle derivatives, starting with those involving one elemental step (such oxidative addition strained C−C bonds Pd(0) or transmetalation reactions between organometallic reagents and Pd(II) precursors), continuing more complex processes, where at least elementary steps chemistry involved (for example, carbometalation alkenes followed by C−H activation process). A final section highlights aspects synthetic methodologies based on catalysis which several C,C-palladacyclic involved.
